Signe's Uncle Thorvald’s home near Lemvig, Denmark. Thorvald was four years younger than Ulrich. When Torvald was 17, so the family story goes, their mother, not having heard from Ulrich for several years, sent Thorvald to America "to find your brother." He did, and stayed to start family, but eventually returned to Denmark.
