J.J.F. Friis also wrote three "historical romances [that] told of important periods in the history of the Islands of Laaland and Falster:" Svenskerne Paa Laaland Fiskerlars, and Lybakkerne i Nakskov. He also wrote a "comprehensive history of the social and political life of the same two islands" and articles in local papers.
